RESTORATIVE CLASSES (Open)
In restorative classes, props are used to induce a profound sense of calmness. This practice has a very rejuvenating and de-stressing effect. It is best for those who attend normal Iyengar classes regularly, however, it is open to all.
These workshops focus on nurturing, balancing and quietening the mind. It rebalances the physical body while soothing and strengthening the nervous system. Supported poses are used to rejuvenate and bring a deep relaxation to the practitioner.
Restorative workshops are different in that most of the poses are supported with props and ropes in specialised and advanced sequencers which have a powerful effect on the nervous and hormonal systems.
It is also important for men as well as women to maintain
hormonal balance, emotional stability and to remove fatigue and check aggressiveness. In fact men should make it a regular routine to practice inversions, forward extensions etc at least once a week in order to keep themselves free from high blood pressure, diabetes, hormonal and emotional disturbances.
These restorative workshops are meant to be in combination with those coming to regular classes.
This class runs on the first Saturday of every month from 4 to 5.30pm. No booking required - Just turn up.
NOTE: Restorative classes are NOT MEDICAL CLASSES and are not for those with serious health problems. For specific problems, see private tuition page on this website.
