
Shri and Padman have created a beautiful, tranquil and spiritual environment in which to practice Iyengar Yoga. Having experienced back pain, tightness and poor flexibility from years of distance running, I was advised to take up yoga and began practicing Iyengar yoga at The Yoga Temple when it opened in 2005. My flexibility and wellbeing have improved dramatically and I am now able to extend myself in ways I never thought possible. I particularly like the use of props which enable the body to stay in alignment. I highly recommend The Yoga Temple to anyone interested in yoga – it is a life changing experience.

The Yoga Temple offers true Iyengar Yoga, this style of yoga has improved my wellbeing and vitality considerably. Iyengar Yoga is a very unique system with a strong focus on body alignment and strengthening in the postures which is what appeals to me. You can't cut corners with this style, to achieve maximum benefits I fully endorse this refreshing style of yoga.

When I first arrived in Manly I struggled to find a yoga class that matched the quality & content of the classes I had come to take for granted in England. When ‘The Yoga Temple’ opened I had high hopes that it would fit the bill ~ it has in fact far exceeded my expectations. The environment is spacious, relaxing and the teaching of Iyengar Yoga is of the highest standard for all levels. I have done many types of yoga in my life and gone to many classes with many different teachers. The Yoga Temple is a very professional and highly accredited school. My body feels less resistant and having endured years of back pain, my visits to the osteopath have become almost non existent. My energy level is higher yet calmer and my mind is quiet.

As a bricklayer in my late 30s and having surfed all my life, my body aches, pains and problems have gradually got worse in recent years. Since I started regular classes at the Yoga Temple , I am more flexible, am less likely to pull muscles in the surf, and have noticed a distinct improvement in the lower back pain I suffer, which is caused by a compressed disc. Both Shri and Padman know I have back problems and advise me on how to accommodate that in classes. My health has definitely improved since I started Iyengar yoga.

I come to Australia to visit my daughter, Cath, and this is the second time I have attended a series of Iyengar Yoga classes. I had done a little yoga in England but was very much a beginner, and when my daughter suggested I attend a yoga class with her I was very apprehensive because of the wide gap in age and ability. I found that Iyengar yoga has very calming effect, yet manages to stretch ones ability.
