H.H. SRI SRI SRI CHINNA JEEYAR RAMANUJA SWAMI
The crusader of peace, His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Sriman Narayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar was born on Diwali day, the festival of lights. It was the call of the divine that made Chinna Jeeyar take up the ascetic order at a very young age. Today he is recognised as very high among the monks of India as a pioneer and crusader of peace. We have heard stories about legends, about God incarnations and Acharayas in the past, but very rarely can we come into the living presence of divinity.
Chinna Jeeyar is a profound Sanskrit scholar, Realized Soul, an epitome of Learning & Enlightenment, and embodiment of Divine Sampath (Divine Wealth) started the JET (Jeeyar Educational Trust) in 1982 at Sithanagaram,Guntur Dist. India, with units in Hyderabad (1983) India, Narayankund Nepal (1985), Rajahmundry India (1991), Madras India (1993) and JET USA Inc. USA(1995).
"Vikasatharangini" a Youth Force, started by Sri Swamiji with hundreds of youth forming its core, has been instrumental in executing several Spiritual and Social projects. All the virtuous ideas and plans of Sri Swamiji for the spiritual upliftment and enrichment of Humanity are executed by different units of Jeeyar Educational Trust.
JET PLANS
Jeeyar Educational Trust has drawn an action plan for establishing a Vedic Academy for Research and Analysis Æ (VARAÆ) with facilities for the well-equipped library and a research wing. To achieve this purpose the trust proposes to make an optimum utilization of the modern electronic media & computer technology.
All pundit's who are proficient in Vedas could be brought under one roof to unearth the hidden truths of Vedas.
The main objectives of the trust are:
- To organize conferences, seminars, debates, congregate scholars etc., periodically for a fruitful interaction in order to inculcate right perception about the Vedic knowledge, vis-a-vis the knowledge of modern science and technology.
- To establish and develop a library containing authentic texts on the Vedas and allied subjects in print as well as in the form of manuscripts, audio cassettes, videos, microfilms and also to sustain the practice of regular chanting of the Vedas by a group of Vedic pandit's.
- To establish modern research laboratories which will enable pundits, scholars, students, modern scientists, doctors & engineers to conduct experiments on the basis of Vedic technology and to explore the ways and means of applying Vedic truths to the needs of the modern world.
- To set-up a laboratory with modern scientific equipment and to study the effects of Vedic sounds on human body and its metabolism.
- To establish a documentation center wherein the relevant information and the activities of various Vedic centers and the work done by the scholars and researcher's are systematically documented and published in the form of periodicals for the seekers.
- To provide educational grants for students by taking research assistance from professors of different educational institutes.
- To conduct summer schools for inculcating time tested ancient Vedic culture, way of life, yoga etc., by pundits from India to the interested devotee family members & children.
OUR JOURNEY TO SRI SRI SRI CHINNA JEEYAR RAMANUJA SWAMI
Our names are Lakshmi and Padmanabhan. We would like to tell a short story on the events leading up to our meeting His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami.
Padmanabhan
I was introduced to the spiritual path by the influence of musician Mahavishnu John Mclaughlin in 1975. At the age of twenty one, I had a very profound and powerful spiritual experience and vision by divine grace. My search to understand this experience lead me to study the Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, vedic texts and yoga philosophy.
Lakshmi
My yoga journey started in 1976 while traveling India. In 1978 I was introduced to Iyengar Yoga which had a profound effect on me and have continued on this path since. This yoga journey has created an ongoing yearning for spiritual understanding which lead me to read many texts, such as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, The Siva Samhita etc. In the mid nineties I meet Acharya Rami Sivan and attended pujas and talks.
Our Journey Together
in 1999 we meet and together studied with Archarya Rami Sivan, the Ramanuja teachings and lineage, Yoga Sutra's of Patanjali, Bhagavad Gita and later were both fully initiated into the Ramanuja lineage. Rami put us on the Jet email listing, and it was because of this, we learned about His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyer Swami's visit to Australia in 2003. We sent an email to Sri Satya Ramanuja in Melbourne expressing our interest to meet HH and made our yoga school in Brisbane available to Swamiji if he wanted to give a talk. By divine grace, it all happened.
Our first meeting with His Holiness was upon his arrival in 2003 at Brisbane airport in an atmosphere of love and devotion. Later in the day we all went on a peace march along the waterfront chanting the ancient vedic mantras. After the peace march, HH then gave a wonderful lecture on spiritual life to a mainly western audience. That evening we were blessed to have HH stay at our home where we were able to talk more with him. This wonderful experience had a very profound effect upon us both. In 2004 we travelled to India and stayed with Swamiji at his ashram in Vijayawada.
