GUIDELINES
NEW TO THE YOGA TEMPLE
You don’t need to book. You don't need to bring anything. We provide all the yoga mats and necessary equipment. If you prefer to work on your own yoga mat, please bring it along.
REGISTRATION FORM
The first time you attend a yoga class at The Yoga Temple, please turn up at least 15 - 20 minutes before class starts, as there is a registration form to fill out.
PUNCTUALITY
Classes begin on time. Please turn up 10 - 15 minutes before classes commence. A late arrival will disrupt the class energy. Classes are designed to create balance, therefore its important to do the class from the beginning to the end.
CORRECT CLASS LEVEL
It is important to attend the correct class level that corresponds with your yoga experience and fitness. Please read the class level guidelines page before attending any classes.
WHAT DO I WEAR
Wear comfortable loose fitting or stretchy clothing. Don’t wear any clothing that restricts your movement. We work in bear feet.
BEFORE CLASS
Always practice on an empty stomach. Leave 1 1/2 hours after a light meal or 2 /3 hours after a heavy meal.
INJURIES/MEDICAL PROBLEMS
Please inform the teacher if you have some problem that will affect your full participation in the class. If you have any injuries or medical problems please tell the teacher before class as there are specific poses and sequences which may assist you, in some cases certain poses are contra-indicated.
IF YOU ARE UNWELL
If you are unwell or sick with a cold or flu etc and are still coughing, please do not come to class and infect or disrupt others.
MENSTRUATION
For ladies, please advise the teacher if you are menstruating, as some poses are unsuitable at this time.
PREGNANCY - Experienced yoga students only.
Experienced Iyengar yoga students who have practiced weekly up to their pregnancy may continue with their ongoing classes, however, if you are new to yoga, it is not recommended to begin yoga at this time.
If you have not been to the Yoga Temple before but practice yoga weekly, please ring first.
SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS
Classes & workshops are not suitable for anyone with serious health problems or serious injuries.

You must take all care to ensure you are safe during classes. You indemnify The Yoga Temple from any responsibility in relation to the risk involved in undertaking yoga classes. The Yoga Temple takes all reasonable care to ensure adequate delivery of its classes.

To receive the multitude of health benefits that Iyengar Yoga offers, it is important to make a commitment to regular attendance (weekly) or to personal practice.
